Phyl is a Chartered Psychologist and Psychotherapist who has worked with top executive teams, executive and non-executive directors all of her career. She specialises in making the link between the strategic agenda of a firm and the leadership behaviours required of senior executives and the teams around them.
She is a Visiting Professor of Executive Education at Strathclyde Business School in Scotland. She is also an Executive Education Fellow at Rotterdam School of Management. She collaborates closely with both Universities to design and deliver high profile executive education programmes.
Phyl held faculty positions at Cranfield School of Management and then Strathclyde University's Graduate School of Business where she successfully led their Executive Development work.
Phyl's published research has spanned a PhD in the Psychology of Strategic Decision Making, through to the leadership challenges of strategic change and the psychological skills of Non-Executive directing. She is currently in the final phase of a piece of high-impact research taking a new look at what creates high performance in Non-Executive Directing.
In her consultancy practice Phyl works one-to-one with Directors and CEO's to improve their personal effectiveness, with executive teams as a whole and with senior leaders in the talent layer of an organisation. The network of associates she works with are all highly qualified and experienced psychology professionals.
Phyl has: BA Hons Psychology and Business Management; MSc Applied Psychology; PhD in Strategic Decision Making; Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling and holds Chartership with the British Psychological Society.
